Marriage is an ancient and dying art in our culture. We host seasonal marriage events and classes to encourage couples to learn how to “die to self” and love their spouse well. We have a very accepting environment, and welcome you to come on Sunday mornings no matter what definition of love and marriage you are working with. However, those who participate in our marriage classes and events will be challenged to make tough choices and follow Biblical teaching about marriage. Following Christ means being challenged by Christ.
Looking forward to the wedding date? Not sure of what to expect going into marriage? We would love the opportunity to sit down with you and your fiancé to discuss communication, equip you both with tools for resolving conflict, lay out clear expectations, and walk with you to determine who's going to do the cooking, the house cleaning, the yard work, the finances, and many more topics. This is a weekly, non-threatening opportunity to discuss God's design for marriage and how you and your fiancé will apply it to your marriage.
Designed to be a marriage "tune-up", ReUnite incorporates Scripture, life stories, and practical application to assist active duty, retired, and civilian couples in pursuing a God-glorifying marriage; one that thrives and doesn't just survive. ReUnite looks at seven topics over nine weeks in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. This study will help any marriage, but has been designed with deployments and military stresses in mind. We have facilitated than 10 full sessions so far, and have had hundreds of couples attend.
We coordinate the start of each round with students going back to school after summer break and Christmas breaks. Please keep an eye on the church calendar and announcements to find out when the next session will start!
Statistically, 50% of marriages end in divorce. If you've been divorced and are looking to remarry or are already remarried, "The Smart Stepfamily" study is a great group to be involved with. The study will help you discover how to communicate effectively with all parties and equip you to solve everyday issues of stepchildren relationships.
This group generally begins anew each calendar year as students head back to school. Keep an eye on the church calendar and announcements to join the next group!
Along with unique family situations, we understand your marriage relationship is unique as well. To help beat the odds of divorce, "The Remarriage Checkup" encourages group discussions, shared accountability, weekly projects, and mutual encouragement from couples who have been there, done that, and are seeking to glorify God through their marriages.
This group generally begins as students head back to school in the fall. Keep an eye on the church calendar and announcements for the next group!
Every marriage has seasons of difficulty. Grace Bible Church offers counseling with our pastoral staff or our Marriage Ministry leaders, Adam and Laura Brown, based on your specific situation. Please contact the church office for more information.
Adam and Laura have been trained by a pastor/counselor with 20+ years of experience using a 6-week "Help Me Help My Friend Guide". Couples who are honest with their struggles experience friendship, support, prayer, and advice from another couple who have also experienced many seasons of difficulty.
Regardless of the situation (adultery, pornography, financial dishonesty, etc.), we would love the opportunity to bear your burdens with you.
Adam and Laura Brown are our primary contact for Marriage Ministry.
