Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Why add another Worship Gathering?

We LOVE to share Jesus with our city! Although we technically have open seats at our current time slots, we are “psychologically full” by most standards. We are also seeing most of our “sister churches” getting full as well. Opening an additional worship service will give us the ability to grow more disciples and share the gospel with more who have yet to believe.

Why not build or plant another church?

Building and church planting are much more expensive and difficult than adding an additional worship time. We have built and planted in the past and hope to again in the future. Adding a worship time is the best use of our current resources and giftedness.

Why these times? (8:00am, 9:45am, and 11:30am)

While there are no perfect times for our circumstances, these times are the best balance of a) common worship attendance trends, b) parking lot limitations, and c) time needed to include singing, praying, teaching, and communion.

What service opportunities are available?

We need more volunteers for our Welcome, Nursery, Elementary, and Slide teams to support our new worship schedule. Please reach out to [email protected], [email protected] (Nursery), [email protected] (Elementary), or [email protected] (Slide Team).

What ministries are available at each time?

8:00 will be a worship gathering only, with no childcare or classes. 9:45 will include nursery, elementary, and youth (teen) groups. 11:30 will include nursery and elementary only.

How can the congregation support the changes?

1. PRAY! Ask God to give us supernatural unity as we grow deep and reach out.

2. GATHER, SERVE, & JOIN! As always we invite people to find a slot each week to gather, serve, and join. We imagine that most families will gather at one time and serve during another. There will be a small minority of people staying for all three time slots. We hope to see most of our core families attend worship as a family at 8:00 or 11:30, and then serve in a ministry at 9:45. We believe we will receive the most visitors at 9:45 and 11:30.

3. WORSHIP AT 8:00! We assume that the least popular worship time will be 8:00, so if your household can worship together at 8:00 that would be a great!

Will this burn out our staff?

We believe the elders have a good plan to care for our staff. We budgeted some part-time help in several key areas. The elders are also giving the pastors more time off during the year to stay healthy.

What if it doesn't work?

God’s grace gives us freedom to experiment. We will pray and try something else.
