Help Others Find Grace

In today’s culture, most people find church in one of two ways: either by invitation, or by searching online. This means that the internet is a real mission field: a place where we can reach people who need to hear the Gospel.

Our heart isn’t to draw attention to ourselves but to make much of Jesus. As Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 1:31, “Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.” By sharing our stories of how God is at work in GBC, we can welcome in others who need to hear the Good News.

In Mark 2:1-12, the friends of a lame man were so passionate about bringing their friend to Jesus, that they were willing to tear off a roof! Think of leaving a review in those terms: even if it feels awkward, we want more people to meet Jesus!

Writing Reviews: a Way to Extend the Reach of the Gospel

Online reviews are not for self-promotion but pointing people to spiritual growth. Don’t talk about the building; share testimonies of God’s work in our midst. Matthew 5:16 calls us to “Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” By thoughtfully sharing on platforms like Google, Yelp, YouTube and others, we can make it easier for outsiders to connect with our community and hear about Jesus.

  1. Write a review on Google My Business
    This helps people find us when searching for churches in Killeen on Google.

  2. Write a review on Yelp
    This increases visibility through community reviews and local search.

  3. Recommend us on Facebook
    This connects with people through social media, making it easier to find and engage with our community.

  4. Subscribe to our YouTube channel and like some of the videos.
    This will help our weekly sermon videos and reels reach a broader audience.

  5. Rate our sermon podcast in iTunes or Spotify.
    This will allow our weekly sermon audio show up for more people.

Describe how you’ve grown in faith, the fellowship you’ve found, or ways you’ve experienced God’s grace in our community. Let your words point others to Christ. What’s beautiful about how He is shaping GBC?
